Homemade Basil Tea- Recipe within.

Did you know you could get so much out of a simple plant?
It's just a common plant your mother or grandmother may have had.
You see it at Thai restaurants often.

Basil actually has amazing healing properties.
Basil tea is said to promote oral health, relieve arthritis, boost immunity and treat headaches. It also tackles stress and anxiety and has wonderful antioxidant properties.

Basil opens the heart and mind, bestowing energy of love and devotion. It strengthens compassion, faith and clarity.
It is commonly known as Tulsi Tea.   Tulsi or Tulasi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) or Holy Basil is a sacred plant in Hindu belief.
Can you believe how much goodness are in these leaves?

Here is the Recipe:
This recipe is super easy:
Boil Filtered water.  (I use a Berkey Filter).  Pick off 3-4 Basil leaves, rinse and air dry.  Place them in your cup.  Add the hot water and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes.  Add a small tsp of honey if you desire to the hot water. 

I'm just enjoying my homemade basil tea with Honey. So tasty and so nourishing.
Not only are the leaves beautiful to look at, their aroma is so cleansing and sweet.

This is a very calming cup while very energizing as well. Enjoy!
